cable is stuck/seized foobar/knackard/broken/kaput/busted or maybe snapped. Anyone know how much a new one costs or do i need to trawl ebay for a cheapo one ?

When my throttle cable snapped, as I didn't have a clue as to what type it was as it is none standard, I just bought a new wire and nipples from: http://www.venhill.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and just used the outer core of the old cable as a guide for length. As the bits were pretty cheap I bought enough to do another couple if it ever breaks again.

Don't bother with it, it will only sieze again and usually in a slightly on position.
Just pull out slide with fingers .
Saves loads of hassle and fault diagnosis in a year or so!
