carb rubbers 550

Post by callyboy » Sat Jul 30, 2011 7:03 pm

Bit quiet on here so thought i would ask another stupid question. How do the carb inlet rubbers fit onto the engine ? was lifting my engine and somehow managed to pull one of these off the block. Are they glued or something ? cant see any means of joining them.

Thanks

Pete

screwed on with 2 screws, you must have split the rubber off the metal part - time for new inlet rubbers i think.

i'd check that the rest of them are not in the same condition.............or you'll get an air leak!

I Dont know if its possible ro re-glue them though, or even what glue to use.....................cos thats going to be your next question...............innit?

I might have a set of 650 inlet rubbers...............but dont know the condition of them though!

I will check and see what size and condition they are in! ;)

Yep,I expect there was some magic formula stuff the factory used described in the manual as Suzuki fixative 1A, £2000 per squeeze.
If you managed to pull that one off then I'd suspect you need a full set or you'll have air leaks all over the place.

I can confirm that the 650 and 550 use the same rubbers:-
13110-47010
13120-47010

Just checked and they are a whopping £28.33 from Suzuki - they were £17 when I bought them!
