Front Brake Master Cylinder Repair Kit
A friend with 1983 GS1100E needs a new front master cylinder repair kit and it's the same as the Katana 1100 / 1000 / 750 / 650. Suzuki part number is "59600-49830" but was superseded by "59600-49831". Can't find that anywhere and I think others in the past might have had the same issue.
As time goes on people will need to rebuild the front master cylinder so handy info for the future.
Any ideas on what to do?

Re: Front Brake Master Cylinder Repair Kit
For those of us who want the full ‘80s experience riding the dinosaurs, including the exciting brakes, it looks like TourMax are the best option.
There are several listed on WeEvil Bay at the moment.

The Tourmax ones are all for Rear Brake as far as I could see...

Re: Front Brake Master Cylinder Repair Kit
Try these:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285817537663 ... R5KYn4mTZQ
https://www.wemoto.com/bike/suzuki/gsx/ ... -front-trk
https://www.wemoto.com/bike/suzuki/gsx/ ... rmax-japan
Working on the basis that most of Suzuki’s 750/1100 cycle parts are the same.
Worth a try

Re: Front Brake Master Cylinder Repair Kit
Now noting that this bike is an 83 1100 E is it a Yank import? We didn't get an 1100E and 83 should be a GSX.. but 'cos it's Yank the X is missing .. So in that case Kryten's suggestions are very likely .. pre 83 front master kits for 650 etc are indeed no longer available mainly 'cos they were gash!

Re: Front Brake Master Cylinder Repair Kit
Friend got NOS one (last one!) from Suzuki Performance Spares in end with slightly different part number (earlier probably) of 59600-49810
The parts look like this:
The ones linked to all look to be different (esp. the metal push rod thingy), possible a later bike so I don't think they will work, which also goes for the 1100 / 1000 / 750 / 650 Katana's.
As an idea for the (1100 / 1000 / 750) Katana (if you need to get one repaired) someone on the FB Gropup fitted a whole master cylinder from a GSXR-1100K (if you can find one!)
Thanks

It was a while ago but, I think I got one of those for Skruffy Kat. And to be honest it was that kit that lead me to Past Parts to refurb my master cylinder.
If the metal parts of the innards are serviceable then the seals may fit. It would be worth seeing some photos of the bits coming out of the master cylinder compared to the bits in the new kit.
Like the member on the FB Gropup, I am fitting a master cylinder from an early slabby, as the only one I had from a Kat had clearly been “Tarmac Surfing”
