There’s a chance……
……. I could be in the “Naughty Corner” at EK10!
Was fitting the rack to the Kat when the thread on the upper suspension mounting gave up the ghost!
Prior to me getting the bike it had clearly been subjected to someone trying to fit M10 x 1.5 nuts to the mounting point.
Now trying to source a thread file to repair what’s left. There should be enough if I can get a hold of one.
If no joy then it’ll be the Speed Trip for me…

Ventura is the answer , fit and forget , just add rack or rail....either way a man of talents ....
Remember if gaff a tape or cable tie can't fix it ...its scrap!

Yes you can.. Mine comes off dead easy ...lift it off the lock ,slide backwards and with a gentle tug it slides past the front locater .....that's not an engineers gentle probably though

Re: There’s a chance……
I do have a Ventura rack and bits. But I think Skruffy Kat's rear is slightly on the huh!* As when the thing is assembled the rack or the grab rail won't lift off.
I've borrowed a metric thread file off someone I've never met (the up side of social media!) So tomorrow I'll be spending a fair amount of time staring at the upper suspension mount before committing with the file
Think there's enough thread to recover. Won't be pretty, but should be strong enough. A proper repair will need a visit to an engineering shop...
*Norfolk for not quite square

Left it for a day. And using the borrowed thread restorer, got cleaned up and sorted!
Good to go now, but by God, it's hot and humid!
