Katana reboot
Rode my new kat for the first time today
Took it to work and back. I really like it.
All dirty now. Will have to wash it at the weekend now.
Got it on southern softy mode on traction control (3) until I get used to it.

Re: Katana reboot
Got mine booked in for first service, 1000km, on Wednesday.
I’ve left the traction control on 3 too... still not felt it kick in yet... but the roads here are not so wet and slippy

Re: Katana reboot
I have gone to the dealer a few times to check it out, it's amazing how little (zero) the sales staff know about the original Kat, or that it even existed, or how to pronounce Katana, or what K5 refers to.

Re: Katana reboot
When I worked for Suzuki GB, we would produce a little book each year for dealer staff covering all the new models. Specs, features etc. Failing that, all sales staff should make themselves familiar with this information. That's bad management at the dealership if the staff don't know what they are talking about.

Re: Katana reboot
Back in the 70’s (yes I am that old ) a mate bought a new Yamaha YDS7 from a local bike shop. He picked it up after its first service and asked the dealer did he check the valve clearances as he thought the tappets where a bit noisy. The dealer assured him that everything was within factory spec. Needless to say he never took it back there
There rubbish them Jap bikes lad they won't last five minutes! you want to get yourself a nice Royal Enfield!

Re: Katana reboot
I actually own one of those from the Dutch importer! Ex-Suzuki dealer gave it to me. Tells them exactly what it is, what makes it special, how to pronounce the name and what to look out for.Smallkat wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 9:18 pmWhen I worked for Suzuki GB, we would produce a little book each year for dealer staff covering all the new models. It's faster to break than to repair.

Re: Katana reboot
You know if you bait a dealer tech and he is smart enough to know he is being baited, you won't get his/her best work?
Same deal as complaining about your food in a restaurant (remember those?)
