Hey Vollgas, welcome from Anaheim!!!! Home of the Ducks, Mickey Mouse and the Angels. I think we are the only team Yankee's here.

These guys are a blast to listen to and learn from, and they seem to like our US humor and take on things.

Can we get an explanation on the name you chose?

I put the Christmas lights up on the outside of the house this afternoon and will be putting them up inside this evening. (Actually they have gone up for Hanukkah, which starts tomorrow evening.)

So I thought it was time to post this photo, from 1990.

Happy festive season to you all, whatever your beliefs, or lack thereof!

David.

Bet he's German, as Vollgas is the German expression for full throttle. His tempo on here suggests 'idle' though...

Back to topic.
Two pics of my missus and me, taken in the same valley in Austria. 1994 and around 15 years later.

In like 1992 I got a Hein Geric VPilot jacket, I think that means first gear, which is what they changed their US name to, I thought that was lame, Hein Geric sounded so much more exotic. Like if Dainese changed their name to "Speedo Cable" or "Cam Shaft". Lame!

Hein Gericke is the name of the founder, so no it doesn’t mean first gear.
Right. And wrong, as Hein Gericke was first gear for many of us.

It was also “cheap shite” but I don’t think that name would catch on 😂
I think they were high end in the 80's and 90's then went low rent later.

Are you sure Hein Gerick dosent translate to first gear, it sure sounds like it. But I'm pretty far away from Germany.

Fun fact, Bikeazoid (me) is half German, half Mexican, I tell people I'm a Der BeanerSnitzel.

Not sure if that is going to cross the pond well so I'll explain, we have a fast food chain called Der WiernerSnitzel (German hot dogs), And a derogative name for a Mexican is a Beaner, due to the large dose of beans in their diet. So it's a hit here :)

Completely off topic, but we have German kebab shops here and they are excellent.

By the wonders of dna analysis, I am mainly Japanese/South Asian. A little bit of North European. Born in London, living in Lancashire.
