Was my way ( well Wisbeach I think) for quite a while and they did try and sell on here a few times. Saw the owners at the Wimbotisham Classic a couple of times. Obviously sold it in the end as it's over Tadworth way now.

Yes it was out Kings Lynn way then got sold on through Gumtree.

I think the then owners had some issues getting it to run right, and I think there could be some fixes in there that may have a high "Chortle Factor"

I met the owners at the Fenman rally, nice enough folk. But not seasoned shed dwellers.

2nd time around for this advert. Thought someone on here would have been interested.

The add this time has a "Make me an offer I can't understand" button.

Difficult to value it. Bit high for a 650 restoration project, but it does have what the dealers like to call provenance....

Know what you mean by the last owners.......always thought would have stood a better chance of selling it with its providence in more original trim. That said it was their bike so their choice.

But yeah it never ran correctly apparently.
The speedo is off a GS 650 GT so not the correct one.....so why not fit one with much less milage! :?: :!:

The new owners started to paint it and even with photos ....still managed to fit naff graffix!! ;)

Could be a club project if really cheap.....then flogged or kept in club......within the club we have the other Heron bike ....,and the preproduction one brought over by Heron to train apprentices....which accounts for the very first 3 ever in UK.

Quite like the idea of a club bike, if the price comes down.

Apologies for my ignorance, but it looks just like my gs650g. Where does the Heron bit come in to it?.

Heron was the official importer at the time and this bike was one of the original show bikes I believe

Yep , Heron Suzuki as was were the official importers of Suzuki motorcycles and even gave rise to the famous Texaco Heron colour scheme so loved on the Barry Sheene era.

So Suzuki released a few 650's Katanas before the official launch so the press could ride them and report on them .
Once all the journos of the day had finished , these bikes of which there were 2 in the UK squencely registered went to the various shows. When the main batch of 650's arrived for sale these 2 bikes went in to general sale probably at mates rates to those in the know ;)

This is where your 650 comes in Jmac...to train the apprentices of the day on what was essentially a new bike, a few preproduction bikes were sent to colleges around the globe and were never meant for sale. Until it was discovered and you registered it.

So to have all 3 of the very first ever Katanas in the UK, in the club is something.
