Re: like buses, Katana 1000
On the first one for £11k I'd want better than those cheap Chinese shock(er)s and a 85mph speedo!
Second one is probably where 1000's will go I guess, but not quite yet I think unless you are lucky. The last I saw sell on Ebay which was a while ago (last year?) was around the £7k mark.
When you look at other bikes that sell for higher amounts then they have to be 100% original really, not have replaced parts, and that is what these sellers are forgetting, but then they haven't sold have they.

agreed certain Kat sellers (just like 90% of the rest of the 'classic' market) are living in cuckoo land spurred on by the "investment" line peddled by various publications
whats the deal with the numbering the 1st guy claims?? never heard of it before

Re: like buses, Katana 1000
Ok I know both these bikes are 1000’s and mine is an 1100 but the first bike with the standard exhaust on it has silencers that doesn’t have holes in the end plates exactly like the ones fitted to my bike? All the Kats I’ve seen have the holes. Which is correct or are they both correct?
There rubbish them Jap bikes lad they won't last five minutes! you want to get yourself a nice Royal Enfield!

Maybe it's limited because of the wonky left side engine emblem, haven't seen many like that, everything seems 'limited edition' these days, but worse of all is the use of the word 'unique', according to the dictionary it means 'of only one' so how can a massed produced thing like a motorcycle be unique?

Re: like buses, Katana 1000
Technically he is correct it is number 48 Just like mine are number 112 , 365' etc. There was no line sent to any particular market and Heron never kept a log , so a correct fact but totally irrelevant !
As for hole is silencers , just a model change as in early ones didn't and later ones did, but after 30 odd years mix and match, who knows .
