Re: Fueling problems
if you've still got the original air box a simple raising of the needle may be all that is needed.

Re: Fueling problems
certainly a step in the right direction and you wouldn't need to take them out to do it....

Re: Fueling problems
Try this

and this

Pilot screws are not listed by Suzuki, and can just been seen in the diagram on each carb, as a screw head. The 2nd from right carb has a hose (Vacuum to fuel tap) coming off the top of the carb body; next to that is the Pilot Screw.

Re: Fueling problems
Hi Mick
Glad that helps, they are pages from the original manuals. Heaps more like that on the CD available on Katanacentral
http://www.katanacentral.co.uk/themodels/manuals.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
As far as I'm concerned it was a tenner well spent. Especially when trying to identify bits on weEvil BAY from the middle of the North Sea

Re: Fueling problems
Hi Mick,
Now I'm no expert, so this info needs to be confirmed.
Pilot screws should be gently screwed in untill they just bottom out. Then back off to the recommended setting. These can have a massive effect on how the bike starts from hot.
The needle position is determined by the clip position. All the others screw in to their postions and adjusments are made by replacement with a size up or down, depending on air filters and exhausts, cams, big bore kits, turbos, superchargers, NOS..........
.....hang on I'm just off to lie down in a darkened room

Re: Fueling problems
Ring 3 lives in the inner area of the velocity stack to keep it in place safely.
As to the damage on the slider: looks like it had been stuck for some time and the pre owner tried to push it up with a screw driver. Not possible to witness such a damage in normal use.
