:D Well here we go folks.
Smand and I intend to catch the Wednesday evening 15th August ferry from Hull to Rotterdam.
This arrives about 7am Thursday16th. Travel up through Germany stopping for fuel for bike and rider , bit of touristy thing every 120-140 miles ( about 1 3/4 hours ish.) The 2nd stop should be around Hamburg .......(not the Reeperbahn !). At a cheap Hotel.
Then Friday travel up through Denmark as per the previous day .to the site getting there late afternooish.

The return pretty much as getting there. Leaving Sunday afternoon. Again cheap hotel Sunday night, then Monday back to Rotterdam for the evening ferry. Docks Tuesday morning in Hull just in time to play in the traffic on Hulls ring road.
I am going to book the ferry later , just like other times I will book foreveryone as a group .
This will reduce the cost considerably. If you book individually you will have to get a cabin for you but if we book as a group the allocation of the accommodation can be spread . We did this for EuroKat 2 and it worked out cheap .

So that's our cards laid out , if you are on board let me know.

There are log cabins available at the site, but these can't be booked until January.. Is this something someone can take onboard , you know beat the Germans ....ha ha! I have emailed the site but no response , but I can't deal with it in the day.. Maybe book a few and we'll sort it from there.?

I guess the southern lot will want to go Harwich / Hook again (well I will). I see the 2 ferries dock on different sides of the river according to Google maps. Looking at the same time scale really. Wednesday night ferry to the Hook ride about 300 miles on Thursday to near Hamburg and overnight. Then about 250 miles to the campsite on Friday. Have fun (avoid Katana Oil - I'll take a picture of me from last time to remind me!) and then start coming back Sunday late morning / lunch, stop over somewhere overnight, then Monday get the (probably) overnight ferry back to Harwich (though possibly get the 14:15?). I did a quick check on 2 adults (though one bike) and twin outside cabin each way and it was £279.

I was happy with camping at the site (I even bought a new tent last year in readiness).

I've been emailing Mark Isaacs as well in South Africa as he seems keen on coming to EK8, but not sure if he'd prefer to fly to Denmark and make his way there or come over (somehow) with some of the UK riders. I know we went down a route of trying to insure a bike for a foreign rider at EK6 (Ted the Canadian) but I had a feeling that was quite difficult. If anyone has some ideas let me know.

I have plan for the euro tunnel, but with 3 stops. It involves meeting the Hull lot at the ferry. I am happy with Harwich option also.
Sparki I will post my euro one ( when I get home) see what you think.
