After measuring, I bought the seat you mentioned Fossie....as you quite rightly said, it does fit ! So thank you so much for your help...greatly appreciated.
Also thanks Craik but no longer required.

Minx are you still after a front master cyl , I may be swapping my 650 for a modern one 'cos I don't really mind having had original parts. I have just changed the seals in it but the circlip distorted so needs replacing and I am not patient enough to have restrip it just to fit new clip.
It works fine but I know there is a fault!!

Really sorry i didnt respond to this....i was working at sea then my password wouldnt work and its only now that i managed to get it reset !
