So the missus says....

Post by Nicky Dodds » Sat May 06, 2017 9:52 pm

"You'd best cancel your fishing match tomorrow "
"Why's that?" I asked
"This is why!" She replied....waving a speeding notice in my face.
FFS I ride a motorcycle capable of almost twice the maximum legal speed limit in a matter of seconds and they've zapped me in what's probably the slowest vehicle on U.K. Roads....a transit connect :(
57mph in what's normally a 60mph leg of the Selby bypass but because it's classed as a commercial vehicle In it's own right as opposed to a car derived van it seems I have to drive 10mph slower than every fucker else :|
I wouldn't mind but once I'd clocked the bastards I was flashing everyone warning they were there.
Not happy.

This is why this van is called a transit connect , before it was a basically an escort van.
But it is not a car dirived van is was built as a van. There is NO ...leeway on commercial vehicles in relation to speed limits .

So Harley Davidsons should be classed as heavy goods vehicles :)

Nicky, I appreciate its no consolation, but you are not the only one unaware or this situation.
On a recent speed awareness course that I was "invited" to attend, the so called experts were also in the dark. I took great delight telling them that the old adage is true. Them that can...do. Them that can't...teach.

You get free tea/ coffee & biscuits! ;) You get to meet interesting people, some more than others granted.
It was better when you got to actually drive in had afternoon and not just classroom work but in all honesty if you go with an open mind and not just ffs , you will be reminded of stuff and hence should be a refresher course. Basically as oddball said " stop with the negative waves man"! ;)

I'll mark it down as a life experience. There are better options available for meeting interesting people I should imagine...
