Shocks

Hi Folks, this is going to be a double barrel question , whilst tinkering in the garage today as you do, i decided to take off the rear shocks on the 1000cc Kat, and removed 1 side from my 750 kat to compare side be side, neither are original and both are different lengths , the 1000 shock is 30mm longer so can somebody tell me the correct length they should be (presume they are the same on standard kats in larger version ).

And hopefully with this info i'm going to fit the Wilbers 632TS TwinShock piggybacks i have, but thats where i'm stuck as i have searched the tinternet on the how to adjust them, unfortunately for me they have so much adjustment and i'm not sure where to set them for a moderate start.

back in the day, a common mod was to fit the longer shocks off the cb900 honda to steepen the steering angle and improve cornering.

Stock Katana shocks are 330 mm long, eye to eye. You can't do anything wrong with Wilbers shocks. Just set everything midrange and start from there.

recommended by another forum so i will hopefully have a better understanding and start closer to my approximate settings

Even back in the day those honda shocks were dodgy, everybody knew that the 'fvq' sticker on them meant 'fade very quickly'

oh aye, im not saying theyre the way to go, but aftermarket shocks to the same fitment as the old cb900 would be an improvement.
