Usually the nuts are made of softer stuff than the H/T stud so you may get away with running a die nut down the stud and just replacing the nut.

If thats not the case and the stud is fooked try to Double nut the stud, or Mole grips, Stilsens or weld a nut on and try and remove the stud, a little localised heat may help free off the offending stud.

I had a stripped thread on mine which i paid through the nose to have professionally repaired. I could have tried to re-thread it myself and possibly made a dogs breakfast out it as its a tricky spot with the other stud so close. Mine was so stripped i thought it was stuffed but they repaired it without having to replace the stud.

Well i didnt ask how they did it but thats exactly the same problem as i had on mine and the same stud too. Maybe you want to call Southern Cross M'cycles 0207 328 1428 and ask for Tom. Tell him your mate Matt came in with his Katana last week and you want to know how they sorted the problem. I just tried to call but they must be busy.

WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!!! I just had a closer inspection and i can see that the rear stud is BRAND NEW. It certainly was removed and replaced. Maybe its available as a Suzuki part. Sorry for almost misleading you.

Mick, if i have learned anything in the last "cough" years, its - if you have the right tool for the job, its usually a hell of a lot easier ! - apart from having a dirty great big fucking hammer. Which can fix most stuff :)

An M8 stud is an M8 stud.

Does it have the same thread as yours?

Is it longer, is it the same nominal length, has it more shank than yours?

Its probably a modified Suzuki part that will fit your bike but will have slight differences in its dimentions.

if you get stuck give me the correct dimentions and I might be able to find some that will do the job!

Yeah im with you there Sparki!

if your in a rush...use a H/T bolt with some anti seize copper grease....... ;)

But not a set pin as set pins dont have a shank! :lol:
