Not 100% as I've not seen one close up but that bracket COULD be for the 1100ES.

That one on weEvil BAY has been fairly well chopped about.

The fairing mounting sub-frame is two major bits

Here is a photo of mine before the rebuild

Image

The lower section has mounting points for the lower fairings, these have been removed. The top section that bolts to the head stock has a different bracket made up, presumably to suit something welded to the Streetfighter.

Image

in this photo you can see the brackets that fix the sub-frame to the front tubes of the Kat frame. These additional points are missing from ET/EX models.

Here's one of the build going the right direction

I'm going to do some more on the Kat today to replace the coils so I'll get some more photo's for you if you want

Hi Mick,

Will get the camera out....

The coils fitted were Andrew's Big Blue ones. Unfortunately too big. They've been shorting to earth via the tank  So fitting a pair of Dynatek green ones this afternoon.

Any particular wiring runs you interested in? or generally all over?

More photos would be great. The ones you have put on are very helpful. I suppose I am in a bit of a hole with the seller as they clearly stated GR71A and it was me looking it up on the net that had it come up as a either a 750 SZ or SD, so likely my mistake.
I now need to know what I have bought so I can resell it and get the right one which I now have a better idea of what I am looking for, thanks

well it was described as a Katana fairing bracket so maybe I have some recourse on the breakers selling it on ebay along with a shed load of other stuff labelled the same ??

That's a Yamaha XJ600 fairing bracket, may also fit XJ900.

1988-1992 model PRE diversion, It will fit the earlier 1984-86 model but the indicator mounts are slightly different.

just been on to Robinsons and it says GSX 750 SD against the frame number of GR71A-106525 which is what the breakers on ebay are selling in parts. That is why I thought it would be OK for my 1100 SD project, but it would appear not and I am struggling to tell them it is wrong without being able to prove what it is off, if that makes sense?
