Before I start swapping parts out I wanted to run this past you all for advice first.
My 1100 is a pig to start at the best of times however after hols etc went to start it to get it ready MOT today it wouldn't catch at all flattened battery etc.Anyway placed fully charged battery on after a minute or so trying to start the starter suddenly went dead. There are ignition lights and all other electrics are fine. All I have noticed is a click at the fuse box when the starter button is pressed .Checked fuses all ok so i am thinking relay however before i start swapping parts out i wanted to check on here first .

Re: 1100 starting issue
A click at the fuse box is bad.
I bet it was on the relais, which is good.
Take your starter motor out and have a look inside. I suppose a good clean and a set of new brushes would do the trick.

Re: 1100 starting issue
If originally it was turning over OK but not starting then also you might want to check the pilot jets in the carbs as well (plus other jets as stripped down). I had similar starting issues about 6 months after buying my 1100, and after posting on here and getting pilot jet as issue, stripped down and cleaned out and since then it's been OK. You might want to invest to a small ultrasonic cleaner from Maplins if you have some spare cash (can link to one I got if interested - sub £100). At the time I didn't have one but soaked in neat Autoglym cleaner over night which seemed to do the trick, but I might take out again to ultrasomic clean as I need to paint outside of carbs again now as well.

Yes mate it was turning over fine but wouldn't catch .Will have to sort out the electrical issue first then have a look at carbs.
