Another expensive evening !

Post by busatoon99 » Fri Jan 10, 2014 9:39 pm

I live in Hereford. Back in the mid 60's when traffic volumes where starting to become intollereable the city council decided we needed a bypass. Sadly the the head of the traffic department at the time must have been some slack jawed, knuckle dragging yokel !
In their infinite wisdom they thought they would go against the the traditional bypass route around the city and plough it straight through the middle of the city
We are now well into the 21st century and the congestion in kin mental, the traffic jams are legendary and the wise  council still refuse point blank to reconsider building a bypass around the city dispite having the funds to do so on severel occasions  stating the enviroment will suffer too much dammage
Ive got a mate who lives in the gower south wales. It takes him longer to get from the city limits to my place than it does to get the 70 miles from his place to the city limits :?
So the only way to get over this problem is to walk or bicycle everywhere (sod that) or buy a bike. Ive got a nice pop up but i do not intend to take it out in anything other than warm dry weather. So this evening i bought a nice little commuter bike, a yamaha TDM850 off evil bay (261366848968) for £933. Its being delivered on tuesday and i cant wait to start carving my way through the kin traffic again :D

We've heard obscure reasons to placate the purchase of yet another 2 wheeled Velocopeed , however The council are responsible is new , clever because you should able to claim it back from the council tax!

However it is a *amaha. Ffs!

Whats wrong with Yamaha bikes?.............. I use a 2006 XT125r every day to come to work. Great bike! Gets left out in all weathers ,starts on the button and has never let me down once in over a year, and it only cost me £250.

I Cant stand Hondas tho.....................

I very much doubt the humourless council will give me a rebate on my kin substantial council tax. However the HMRC will because im self employed and it will be on the books as a commuter bike. So its a free bike so to speak and i will be able to claim a percentage of the running costs against my income tax :D

Yamaha produce some brilliant bikes, ive owed a couple of 350ypvs and TDR250's and they where kin great fun to ride. I could have bought a bike from the very bottom of the food chain, namely a hardly movinson ! The worlds finest way of turning petrol into noise without the drawback of producing any power !

Nothing wrong with Yams, TDM850's reliable though ?, They tend to knacker gearboxes, have cam chain troubles and suffer main bearing failure. Hope yours is a good one though.
