Hi Guys,
It would seem that after a long period with the engine out out of the bike, the oil pump appears to be dry.
I cannot get any oil pressure on cranking it over.
Whats the best way to prime it? I know it's easy with cars - take the PRV valve spring out and fill with a squirty can.
Similar on the Kat? but going in through the oil filter housing?

Re: Best way to prime oil pump?
Did you check the oil pick-up strainer mesh was clear of dirt and debris, definately worth checking!

Didn't take the sump off!
However, I squirted some oil into the pump via the oil filter feed, and all is good now. The pressure will come up very quickly on the starter (with a knackered battery), so all is good.
I suspect the pump drained down, as when the lump was out it was at all kinds of angles!

For the price of a sump gasket..............its a wise thing to check!
Glad you got it sorted in the end!
