and when they introduce emissions tests for bikes to check their taxable status, how many old smokers or two strokes will end up with a fail?

im wondering if the co2 emissions in that statement are accurate for the bike, i cant verify that figure online, it might sound good, but that doesnt make it accurate, and if you want to present an argument you can win, you need to be accurate.

Does the Goldwing count as a hybrid - after all it uses the starter motor to run (although in reverse???) LOL

If it does come in then it'll be for new bikes, older ones will probably be taxed the old way (sort of), cars I think before 2001 aren't rated on emissions and tax is a bit more.

Another thing to consider is if the road tax is based on emissions will that then mean emissions testing at mot time, this will be expensive for mot testing stations to buy the equipment, expect then to see a price rise in bike mot's.

To be honest it is more likely to be that road fund licence as we know it will in the future dissappear, because the more newer cars that come out the less road fund licence gets paid. Eventually it will be like the rest of Europe and incorporated in the fuel price BUT we already pay more tax than them, so it is just a case of some polititions growing some and putting it to the nation in such a way that we think we are gaining while they do.

Road fund licence is to cover damage to the roads, what the f*uck has the gas produced got to do with it.
