I take it you did not do the mono shock conversion by yourself?
It's always good to keep close to the geometries of the donour bike. That avoids the effects you experienced.
Could you please try and post some pics of your monoshock? And of the whole bike, of course!

hi first thing you need to do is a 60-60 test to find out how shock is working photo would help where in uk are you dave

Junk that linkage arrangement. when doing a conversion it's best to use the linkage and geometry from the bike of the donor swingarm. looks like that linkage has been just made to fit. The arm is a JMC for an 1100EFE, these had linkage at the top. you won't be able to get the proper EFE linkage in there. I think your best bet is to get lugs welded on the swingarm for twin shocks, but get the measurements from a std Kat swingarm to help with where to put the lugs...Or you could get a 1200 Bandit swingarm, shock and linkage, it might fit in with the top mounts you've got ??..

That's what I thought. Or GSXR swinger, very similar to Bandit. Linkeagewise.

GSXR swinger is too wide, needs about 3mm taking off each side at the pivot. Bandit one more narrow, slides in then make up tophat spacers to fill the gap..
with either a bandit or gsrx swingarm you might have to modify or remove the footrest hangers as the arms are wide. But EFE hangers look good on Kats.

Like arnica says Bandit arms are good solution.
Bandit 1200 the pivot is narrower than the Katana and is easily fitted with custom bushings which you can get machined.
There is some minor fabrication needed for the brake peddle side of the Katana and the mono mount has to be removed or it hits your battery box. The last job is to weld on some twin shock mounts and jobs a goodun

No. the vfr shock is not situated in the center of the bike but a little to the left. But I can help with measurements and pics as I still have my old frame here. Had a RC 36 sssa in there since 1992 or so.

hagon are good, maxton are better but cost more, nitron do some tasty things too but cost more.... ikon or hagon imo. hagon will setup for your weight if needed to with different springs. think they're around £130 for a pair
