Paint
Can anyone suggest a primer for plastic that will not react? (in a rattle can).
I've used Acrylic on a brand new side panel & the tailpiece with no issues - But I have come to do the front mudguard, and wherever the paint hits the bare plastic it's reacting & crazing bigtime!
Any ideas?
Cheers,
J

Re: Paint
They sell it at the Range & hobby craft, Don't use the plasti-kote laquer, it's not water proof, my front mudguard goes from Black in the dry to various shades of Blue, depending how damp it is, good rain sensor but dosn't look good (like the rest of the bike, I know)

Re: Paint
Well that's what I thought... I have sprayed a side panel & tailpiece with Acrylic and no problem.
The bare plastic on the mudguard seemed to be quite porous, as I took some of it down to bare plastic (where the paint was rough) and the difference in finish was noticeable. I'm just wondering if I need to get the fine wet n dry on it and smooth it right down by hand (did that with the tailpiece) so it's shiny. I used a power sander on the mudguard and only went down to medium (had no fine pads left)... so I'm wondering if that could be the issue.
Will have a look shortly. Too cold for spraying at the moment, and after the 13L & side panel aftermath, I'm not allowed to spray in the kitchen anymore
