Is that still in the gold Pete, is it a close colour match ?.
Make sure they leave the frame number clear to read and they mask off all the threads, headstock where the bearings go and the inside of the swingarm pivot area. Still is handy to have a tap set to run through when you rebuild.

Re: Gold powdercoat on pop up frame
Yeah Still gold. It was pretty close to the original gold Mal(IMO). Was going to go silver if it wasnt close enough. No doubt the purists will take the piss if its not spot on but never been one for doing things right
Wasnt sure about getting everything lacquered(especially the engine covers) so decided to save some money and left it.
Should be ready next week. Fingers crossed.

Re: Gold powdercoat on pop up frame
I really don't know who's a popup purist, I'd like to have my 750 back to original but with 3 slightly different golds it's all gets a bit expensive, my big popup isn't original gold and i'd say it's actually a better shade. I think when i do the 750 i'll do it in one shade of gold thats close, like your doing, reckon that will be good enough. there's really not many who know all the ins and outs of a popup anyway.

Same people that did my (cough) Impulse. They have been around for 20 odd years and the guys in there are very helpful and friendly. They dont specialise in bikes, but I think they like doing them. Told them to leave the frame number visible this time
