ignition wont turn

hello all, went to try and start the pop up yesterday and the key wont turn ! pushes in ok and when i try to turn it the steering lock moves but will not retract all the way so i can get her running, any ideas what i can do other than bin it ! and does anyone know if the gixxer ignition wires are the same because i have one with a key in the shed somewhere, i know the plug is different but i can swap the wires into the old plug me thinks, all help apreciated.

First thing I'd try is soaking in WD40 or some other spray penetrating lube for a day or so to see if it frees off. Put the tip of your key in the lock to open the flap then just let fly with a good squirt (oo-er missus).

take it off and give it a good soak with wd40, if its really stuffed then remove the barrel and just start the bike useing a screwdriver in the switch.
i would think that any gsx750 e,es,ef model should work on your bike.

right its soaking in wd40 ! and i have dug out the gixxer one from the shed just incase, as i have to work on it outside at the moment i really want to see it running before it starts snowing lol, i will report back after the weekend...

the ignition block is a green plastick block connector which fit a lot of the early Suzukis however I think that the units are slightly different and are worth doing a little research first.

steve, go into the members room, half way down it will say workshop manuals, it will tell how you can down load the whole manual for FREE :D
