Rear Suspension for a pop??????
Rear Suspension for a pop??????
Right I have decided that the rear shock in my pop up has probably seen better days so time to look for a replacement.
Not too keen on putting an original 1985 one in as will have no doubt similiar problems.
So my question is.......Is there a modern suspension unit off a bike that will fit???????? As cant really be affording a few hundred for a brand spanker.
cheers guys

Re: Rear Suspension for a pop??????
never seen a definative answer on this, the std shock is quite long at around 335mm i think ?, you'd need to find a similar length shock with an eye fixing at both ends and without a remote resovoir as it won't fit in the space. you'll then probably need to modify the mountings as the widths will be different, on the top you may need to widen the clevis a bit too but there's not much to take out..
Best thing to do is remove the std shock then take it to a breakers and compare a few..

Re: Rear Suspension for a pop??????
I know you don;t fancy fitting a new one, however i can vouch for the hagon unit.
A straight insert is the Hagon M63060, height adjustable as well as damper adjustable.
I am carrying a few pounds as they say.. so i turned 2 extra coils (coilover unit) to assist it sitting right
Fitted on to mine with no issues - rides beautifully

Any joy with the NTV shock?harriskat wrote:It just so happens I own an Ntv600 and its in bits. Nice one.
The Hagon is a good option if you can afford it though as I have one on my NC30 and it does what it says on the tin but there are better out there.
Dimensions would be cool to.
