Veggie sausages... Someone on here hates the phrase you wrote  that came out as veggie sausages , actually it should be sausages but to be pc and to keep our resident small person award winner happy it was changed to veggie sausages.

The plate on an import is not a good way of telling the year, it all depends on what was filled in on original application to DVLA . ( the form is a bit vague to be honest)
We have got 1100 's in the club reg'd before they were sold, and even got a pop up with a 1998 plate.
date of first reg should be in country of first use , but people fill it in as the date thay are filling it in at DVLA. That is why usually the dates are the same for 1st reg and 1st in UK.
To compound the issue ALL popups even those official imports were jap and othermarket models , with km's clock and 50 mph warning light. All 1983-4 models but on 1985-6 plates "C".

This is slightly on/off topic, being new I don't want to flood the technical threads with new boy questions. Here goes: I have stripped the front forks down for normal daily cleaning, found that the spring length is: 486mm and 487mm respectively I checked on my new(ahem) manual and found the spring length should be 527, yet in the back of the manual it refers to the pop-up and shows a chart for the "front fork spring free length" and that's at 465mm I take it that the pop-up and the 750e model are different and my springs are well within limits but would like confirmation from someone who has done this please.
Question 2: whats Suzuki super grease "A" please? What can I use instead?

Q: what application are you using the grease for..........it might give us a better idea what job you are trying to do!

And then we can give you an alternative! ;)

Fair one Bob,

the manual quite often refers to "Special grease" but don't we all (veggie sausage thingy)
It's the fork top adjusters, they were completely siezed on strip, I have freed them off and don't want to put a grease in the area that will react with the new fork oil on rebuild and vice versa.

The fork length for the es and the se are different because the es has hydraulic anti dive nad the se has oil anti dive.
The manual is aimed as es owners /mechanics and the se is an addition so you need to extract the main from the main manual and refefer to the supplement for the bits that are different.
Yes you forks are OK!.
