what is the wiring seguence of the ht leads on my 550 ?

just wondering if i have it right. would it even fire properly if it was wrong ?

If it fired at all it'd sound well rough and you'd be turning it off instantly.

Cheers Chris, i reckon it must be right then. will see tomoz when i take it down the bike shop and see if a carb balance helps.

one coil will feed cylinders 1 and 4 the other coil will do cylinders 2 and 3. it doesnt matter which of the pair of cylinders fed by an individual coil gets which lead, as both cylinders sparkk at the same time, although one of the sparks is wasted. the main factor in which pot gets which lead is normally the length of the ht leads! and for the record, cylinder 1 is the left hand pot as you sit on the bike and look down at the engine. so if you put the lead from cylinder 1 onto cylinder 4 it wont make any difference as it will still run.

Cheers John, will double check, but i am pretty sure its right. just kinda going thru what might make it run different from before i stripped it. maybe changing the intake rubbers etc has thrown the carb balance out like you said.

Watcha Pete, I think that your problem is in carb balance not in wiring because if you wire the leads wrong you would never start the engene.
