Have you looked at the bulb when it is on , are you getting both filaments on, on low beam , and main beam, on main beam , that was wrong with mine , I remember now.

Will have a look fossie, cheers mate.

idiot bulb removal is looking good. either that or just ignore it.

While the kids were at their church club i couldnt resist another look. Switch looked ok, but hey, what can you see ?

Low beam looked a bit dim, but that might just be me :)

Tomoz will do the good earth.

frigging ell - 4 pages on a dull bulb !!!!!!!!!!!!

Right, getting mighty fed up with this.

John, tried the new earth to the light. no good. Also tested the earth and it was fine.

Fossie, I think you may be on to something. On low beam BOTH filaments are lighting up(low beam very dim). switch onto high beam = only one on(high). Does this explain the bad brightness on low beam ? coz the current is going to the high beam filament instead of all to the low beam ?

So.........................what is happening. Is there a short between low and high wires ?

Am starting to think its the high beam switch.

Its tooooo hot to be doing this

Im with Johnr here!

Unplug the switch from the harness and test with a multi-meter to see if you have continuity between the high beam wire and the low beam wires as you operate the switch!

If you do

The Switch contacts need cleaning or theyre worn and are both making a circuit whilsth on the low beam circuit............if they are:

Take the switch off of the bike, sit down at the table with the switch on an old news paper then strip it down (after taking some pics first so you know how to put it back together again)..........you'll probably find the copper contact has either moved or come out of its little holder................get your finger out Pete..............instead of loitering around here all day!
