Is it possible or is it BBQ paint time?

Post by fossie » Sun Sep 25, 2011 8:00 pm

I've come by .... well actually I bought a set of GS 650 GT standard exhausts , they fit the Kat , but are shiney chrome.

They really are clean , they only did a few hundred miles before they came off.
Unfortunatley there is a scrape on one side and acid splash on the other, but the welds are pristine no corrosion no soot.
I may just fit them but they are too good for my work bikes, ( until the motad on one falls off which it will 'cos the kit kat wrappers they use don't last forever!. )

My question, eventually is, can they be black chromed , where, how much , and would ceramic coating be better, cheaper , easier.?
*Should read questions *

That's what I thought really, the ceramic coaters is near here in Warrington I believe.
I had an alteray.... alterna....alteriiiiiiiiiia.... nuvver reason, in that I may have found a chap to make down pipes for the Kat range , but obviously in steel , we would then use the MIVV silencers. So I wanted to cost the process and match finish.

But carry on the thread , someone may know better.

Hi Fossie, the harris 4 into 1 i have on my new efe is black ceramic and it looks really good, the guy i got it from did a few miles and i've done a few and it still looks really good, you can get ceramic done internal and external. remember ceramic is one of the toughest materials out there. brittle as hec but really hard.
However I'd imagine it's more expensive than a tin of bbq paint

What about http://www.camcoat.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; they're in Warrington.

Not used them myself, but the stuff they display at the shows looks good.
