fuel filter

Anyone fitted a in line one ? just wondering if its worth it or even possible on CV carbs ?

yes, always fit an inline one, also glue a small magnet to the outside of it, this will prevent any rust particles from in your tank from clogging up your carbs. the filter alone wont stop rust particles as they are so fine they will pass straight through it. the magnet will hold them all in the filter and your carbs should hopefully stay clear.

just make sure youy tighten it properly

nothing worse than seeing loads of fuel falling on a hot engine

then standing there (cigarette in hand) wondering how much fuel has gone and do you have enough to make it to the next garage

then when it's cooled off thinking i hope there isn't going to be a rougue spark from the loom when i restart this that ignites the vapours trapped under the tank

nice touch about the magnet hmmm
done that on oil filters on cars with realy strong magnets
somethings just so obviuos..........

it works i assure you. the rust from fuel tanks can make a mess of these carbs pdq, but the magnet holds in in the filter job done!

Yep it defo works....had a inline fuel filter with magnet fitted to my M30 as the tank was red rusty inside and full of sh1te ( bit like me then eh) also had a magnet tie wrapped to the fuel level guage, and 1 stuck to the base of the tank..............

when I took the carb off there was only a few tiny dust specs in the float bowl..and I never had a single problem with blocked jets on the 250 mile ped challenge last May! I just needed to back blow through the filter to clean out the considerable debris inside that the magnet had captured!
