Right. Having got my nice new carb inlet rubbers from my mate Bobster, and some new seals for it, I thought i would whack the old carbs back on and sit back and admire my handywork
WRONG !!!
How the frigging ell do i get these back on ? I prob put things back in all the wrong order, but working on the assumption that someone at sometime would want to get their carbs out for cleaning or repair and will not have wanted to get whole engine out, then they must be in the same position as me. ie engine in and no room to get the buggers back in.
I thought that maybe taken the air box plastic bit out and fitting the carbs to that and then trying to get them back in that way might work, but there is not enough room to get the box in with the carbs attached
So what to do ? do i have to tilt the engine forward a bit to get some extra room ?
I cannot for the life of me see how i could get the carbs back on the airbox with the air box in situ. It took all my effort to get it on the carbs when it was out of the bike !!!! Maybe take the inlet rubbers off and gain a bit of space ? be damned how i will get the bolts on for the inlet rubbers in though - wont be any space if the carbs are there.
HEEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPP
