oil cooler for a 550
Looking at maybe getting one for my 550. Think it will look cool ! will a 650 one fit straight on ? looks like i already have mounting holes on the frame.
Anyone fitted one ?

I Cant see any reason why one wont fit to the 550 motor
...........But I dont think it will get enough air-flow just sat in your garage m8...........
Are you going racing on it Pete ......or just maybe travelling over the Andes, the Sahara or Gobi dessert or even Hindo cush in the middle of summer?
You'll need the oil filter housing from a 650 too or it wont work correctly and cause more problems than it will solve!

The 650 oil pipes connect to the sump don't they, I would double check but mine's gone!

The oil cooler from the 650 fits the sump , but just swapping the pan over won't work as there are different passageways and a non return vale. ( Don't ask how I know.)
You could fit an oil cooler to the 550 by using the oil pressure switch , they did a kit.
Or get a sump from the last model 550.
