I want to remove the speedometer trip reset knob from a broken speedo and use it on a working speedo that is missing the knob, rather than buy a new knob.
Is it possible to remove it without taking the whole speedo apart?
Turning it one way just resets the trip meter to 0 and turning it the other way has no effect, it doesn't unscrew.

I think that the reset knob will pull straight off the speedo, but you have to make sure that you are pulling it directly away from the speedo.craik wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 3:26 pmI want to remove the speedometer trip reset knob from a broken speedo and use it on a working speedo that is missing the knob, rather than buy a new knob.

But you do have to be brave….

it just pulls off, warm it up with boiling water first if you can and as said just be brave.

Thanks. Pulling it off worked. Looks like there may have been a small spot of glue holding it on as well.
Just pushed it back on the new speedo, without any glue and it seems to have worked. Hopefully it won't fall off!

There shouldn't have been glue there before , it's held on with the splines .
