Hi all,
I've been contacted by a guy who bought a 650 which has issues with the 2nd gear jumping out when inserted.
On first opening the engine, he found spring debris inside the box, thought it was the source of the problem, closed the engine, but the issue was still present.
He then bought a second hand box on eBay, which appeared in good shape, fitted it... and second gear still jumps out.
Perhaps some of you can offer some ideas on what could be wrong ?

2nd gear issues isn't unknown on 650s , mainly because with the shaft drive you're better not running high revs before selecting the next gear ,but use the torque...
2 gear is on the same shaft as 5th gear...
Other than that borrow another linkage as if the ball joints are worn selecting 2 gear is a high travel and maybe not completing its selection.
