Re: 1982 650 Front brake master cylinder
Does it really need to be the exact type as in plastic all round etc, as in restoration as per factory spec etc, or just want to ride it?
If it has to be just so, then yes 550 katana ones are the same . But you will need to get a rebuild kit as if will have been standing about crystallising the fluid. And the brake switch will be buggered , although for MOT it isn't required for 1980's bikes.
If you just want to get on the road I bought a master cyl from e bay with modern brake switch ready to go for £20.
That said I have a 650 one here in very tidy condition but require a seal kit because it has been off a bike for a while , though I did clean it and store it.

Thanks , appreciate the feedback and the info.....it would be great to get the proper one for the bike if you’re sure that you don’t need the one you have .....i’m quite happy to pay for it if you let me know how much?.... wouldn’t feel right to get it for free..
i’ve Seen plenty of kits available so it should be ok for me to sort it out.....
Bike will be ready for the road soon .....just an oil pressure switch , spray silver covers to clocks and finish repair the Marshall 4-1 !
Thanks

Just join the club £10 ....that'll get you access to sale and wants section , newsletters , discounts from suppliers and more areas of the website. Postage won't be much , I check in the garage in the next day or so.....I know where it is but it's more of a Kat cave than a garage, I 'll check it over and let you know for definite that it is there. Once I'm sure I'll send PayPal address so you can join and add say a fiver for post and packing (£15 in total.)
Cheers .
Cheers .

Recovered from hibernation, complete with lever and brake switch. I will need to keep the front of the clamp but you must have one .
Will send a PM with PayPal address etc. Let me know postal address on reply.
