I'm now ready for painting . I had the head and barrels soda blasted and they have come up a treat .
What primer did you use as the VHT needs cureing and I'm not to sure how to do this . Is it a case of putting it in the oven ?

Bruce
Hi Bruce make sure you get all the soda washed off, plenty of hot water does the job just get into all those nooks and cranies.
Dry it well then spray it all over with a good panel wipe/degreser, let it dry off.
If you are using spherex vht I didn`t use a primer on my 1100 engine and that lasted very well over many years. However other vht paints may require a primer as KeKat says you can get vht primer.
once painted it is best to cure but don`t over heat it as it can go straw coloured oh and if you do it in the oven wait till the wife goes out as it stinks the place out. ;)
It can be cured by running the engine over a few heat cycles once its assembled but its not fuel proof until cured as I found out to my cost on my 1100 engine when I repainted it last time.
look forward to seeing the finished results :)
