Wasn't the 1000SZ as sold in the UK, only sold like that in the UK? The American 1000SZ has CV carbs so different and the NZ and SA markets got the 1100SXZ.

I hadn't seen any numbers quoted before on 1000's sold in the UK so interesting. Where did you get that from?

Had from new as well - impressive!

I'm not sure how of our members have 1000's. KeKat has one and John Martin (who also runs the Aircooled Suzuki (ACS) has one and I think Bobster who was on here had one. There have been the odd one popping up on Ebay - there was one in April and this dealer has one https://www.jb-motorcycles.co.uk/projec ... tana-1000/.

Oh, Hello as well and welcome.

Hello there, and welcome!
The number 3000 sold or made world wide seems to ring a bell with me, or was that something else I'm getting confused with?

I've got a couple of 1000's so just need to find the other 163 in the UK!! :D

Hi and welcome...KATANA FRANCE had some interesting info on which I looked at ages ago. On their website they tried to put together a registry of all owners. If you google their website and click on the 'collection' tab it currently shows 2915 1000's and 21457 1100's were made worldwide. Some on this club added their names to the list. Not sure how accurate it is...but interesting :D

Maybe the 3000 I thought was just approximate, so not far away. I wonder if there are another 85 unaccounted for somewhere?
interesting reading though.
Where did the 164 UK bikes number come from I wonder?

Still think you can't count the US 1000 in with the "world total" as those have CV carbs and I think the engine is the same as the 1100 cam wise, just less capacity. They wouldn't command any price premium like a UK one would.
