is there a washer on the oil plug?

basically I am doing the oil and I realise that there is no washer on the plug I found that weird?
is there on originaly on a 400?

Yes there should be a washer...........a copper washer will do if you have any spare .....or even a couple of turns of PTFE (Thread tape).............in an Emergency!
But they should have an alloy washer.

So after 6 shops (halfords, 3 bikes shops, 2 motor factor) I eventually got 2 washers. One aluminium and one copper.
The funny bits is I found this in my local motor factor. None of the bike shop where having them conclusion I am going to get a set of washer. As the washer were about 2 euro each you better of getting a box...
This lovely trip took me 2 hours of my life what a waste....

for a bloody washer.

John I did not loose the original one it was not there
Based on the oil color, I think the previous owner might have forgot it and the oil was done not that long ago.
I never lose thing there are just in a safe place

i ordered a handful off ebay with free postage for a few squids..... think they for for some vauxhall or something...
