1982 Katana 1100 LH switch

Post by Walters » Tue Jul 09, 2024 5:54 pm

Hi. Hoping for some help, the horn button is missing from the switchgear & the previous owner has fitted a stand alone horn button alongside presumably as he couldn’t get a new button .

Does anyone know where I can obtain a replacement button from so that I can remove the bodged horn & return it to standard ?

Many thanks 🙏

I‘m not aware of those buttons being sold as a stand alone part. So best buy an old cheep fubar LH switch and take from there or do it like I did some thirty years ago: make it yourself from a piece of black plastik on a lathe. Result looked a bit tweedy but did its job ever since.

As Pedda suggested.

Find a GSX LH switch cluster and make 1 good out of the two.

What year is yours as they changed from '82 to '83?

I'll have a look in the "Get Out of Jail" box and see if I have something that might work for you.

Ah the clue is in the question

I might have something, will check this week :D

Great outcome - I managed to get a GSX1100EF LH switch on Ebay and the horn button fitted perfectly.
Not the easiest job to do but with a bit of patience & perseverance job done.

Thanks for the advice
