The choke cable on my bike needs replacing after finally shearing at the handlebar end. However, I am having trouble locating a new one in the UK, or anywhere else for that matter.
The GZ version has the cable attached to a small lever on the LHS of the handlebars, in contrast to eg the GX version which has a 'plunger' located on the steering stem.
Wemoto has some choke cables they claim are for the GZ version, but looking at the pictures on their website, they are the 'plunger' version, so won't fit.

https://www.wemoto.com/bikes/suzuki/gs_ ... fitment%29
https://www.wemoto.com/bikes/suzuki/gs_ ... able_-_oem
One way that occured to me was to take the more readilly available GX choke and try to modify it to fit on the bike, although I'm not too sure how practical that would be since there's no place to attach it to the steering stem. Also the end that attaches to carbs might be different on the GX version.
Any suggestions how to proceed?
Thanks in advance for any ideas/solutions.

Re: Suzuki Katana 650 GZ choke cable
options are Gsx 750 ES....or better still search GS650 GTZ..., other than that do what most of us do and just pull out mechanism with your fingers and use a peg to hold it in place.
CSMNL still list it at £16.50 so Robinsons can get it . 5841034500 GS650GZ. all 1983 bikes had this type of choke fitted.
The wemoto site is obviously in need of tweeking .

Re: Suzuki Katana 650 GZ choke cable
Thanks Smallkat. Just saw your post.
After Fossie's suggestion, I had already ordered a choke cable for a Suzuki GSX750W X 98-01 (part no 58410-03F00) and also a choke cable for a ' Suzuki GS 700 E Naked 1985' (no part no given) which from their photos on EBay looked like they might fit.
The latter one also stated it would fit a Suzuki GS 650 GT (1985).
Robinson's say the original Suzuki part has been discontinued.
If I get no luck on getting those to fit, I'll get back to you.

Re: Suzuki Katana 650 GZ choke cable
In the end, none of the above cables worked or were even close so I had to send it to Venhill Engineering, who make bespoke cables. Just send them the old one and they'll make a copy.
It cost a total of £30 inc of tracked postage there and back, with a quick turnaround of a few days.
The invoice included a Venhill part no for the cable, so they may have actually had one in stock and not had to make one up.
Have included the company details below since it may be useful for others needing a replacement cable.
So far the new cable seems to be working ok. Hopefully it will last 40 years like the original Suzuki one and not quickly fall apart like the last Hilex clutch cable I bought!
