Recently when I first start up the bike in the morning after it's been standing overnight, the front break lever can be pulled right back so it touches the handlebar.
After a few squeezes, it goes back to normal operation, with it only being able to be pulled back to about 1" from the handlebar and seems to function normally with ok braking performance.
Anyone know what needs to be done to remedy this?

You've got air finding its way into the system , when was the fluid last changed ? Are the hoses original.

The other place is the seals in the resevoir on the 650 if it the original oblong white plastic base ...there is no seal at the bottom and when the fluid goes chalky overtime it lifts the resevoir off the mastercyl. That is why it was discontinued and deleted with no spares retained .
