Floaters brakes!

So how did these brakes actually work without any indication of an issue ?
I only went to check because although the brakes worked fine the feel was a bit wooden .

Jeez. Thank god you have been religiously changing the fluid every two years.

Exactly how long were they 'floating' in the canal then?

That's the bizarre thing the Pistons moved freely and just popped out . There wasn't a lot of crystallisation in the rubber boots , or pitting on the actual Pistons .
I actually cleaned the mastercyl first and bleed fresh fluid through ...They just returned to the wooden * onda feel .
Anyhow they are stripped and being painted now .....another 5 minute job eh?
