Re-anodising the swingarm

Hi all,

I contacted my coater and asked them to re-anodise one of my swingarms.
Answer came back negative, apparently the different kinds of aluminium used in the arm would result in different kinds of finishes.

Sounds rather stupid to me. Has anyone had success re-anodising the swingarms?

Cheers,
Lex

My guy said the same, I reckon a more industrial set up could do it but that’s probably at big runs as well.
I just blasted mine, 2 coats of etch primer then 2 coats of Simonez Hard Black, no complaints so far.
Thanks Blix,

They basically told me 'no' but I am still going to have them do it and if it sucks it's my problem.
Once I specifically said that I'd pay up anyway they reluctantly agreed. If it really is as bad as they are saying it's going to be I'll have them de-anodise it and I'll just give it a nice brushed aluminium finish.
I did prepare both sides, really hope anodising works out. Paint or powder coat just is not the same on a 100% new build.

If Suzuki could do it 40 years ago I expect someone specialised in finishing to be able to do the same
