Top end rebuild

Well I had put aside both days this weekend to strip & rebuild the top end but circumstances (SWMBO  ) intervened and I only had from 15.00 today to start
The good news is I’ve removed the precious standard exhaust system without scratching or damaging it. The air box, plenum chamber and carbs are off and I’ve removed the cambox top. I somehow got it into my head the camshafts where on there way out but they are good to go. I might have got the cylinder head off but the cam chain I thought had a split link appears to be endless? I presume to remove the head I have to remove the camchain tensioner and then wiggle the camshafts out to free the head? Hopefully next weekend should see it finished. I can’t work on it during the week as by the time I get home the light is fading and I’ve no power in my garage

Well I’ve got to get my finger out as I’ve been nominated the club media slut and the bike is meeting it’s adoring public on the 22 March in Robinsons bike shop and then on the 23/24 March at the Manc bike show alongside the great pretender
So am I correct about removing the camchain tensioner and then wiggling the cams out to be able to lift the head?

As an ex kettle club member I know some people show bikes with no internals in the motor :o
But my bike will be running before I put it on show.

Nice work, I use a length of string to keep hold of the cam chain, note to self, don't use fingers, they come off :?

Well unfortunately I’ve made zero progress this weekend partially due to family commitments and partially the weather
I’ve no power or lighting in the garage and my workshop ain’t Kat size so that’s out. Time is getting tight now and I’ve just realised the bloody MOT has ran out.
