Since I striped the thread on my 83 kat a bottom engine cover has come up on ebay - just checking with the enlightened on here as to whether there's any difference between the two?

partly due to not having a helicoil kit at the moment and the ebay item is reasonably priced... plus advice to the effect that replacement would be preferable.. :!:

i remember fossie mentioning something about the 650 sumps, iirc there are diferent sumps dependant on if you have an oil cooler fitted.

Correct John , model with oil cooler needs to be GS650 GZ or GZ , the GT is different with the oil way blanked off and will pressurise the filter housing causing it to blow off, Don't ask!

 I went and ordered the GT pan last night, could be interesting to see if the oil way can be reinstated. Nowt like being impulsive
