I feel really bad coz the guy that bought my 550 has a prob with the indicator/brake and instrument lights. He was ok till he got a few mile near home and his mate realised his turn signal wasnt working. They then noticed that the brake light and instrument lights were not working either. Headlight works and ignition.

I have never had a problem with the electrics so feel really bad

Do you think its just a fuse or bad earth?

That's probably all it is, you sold it in good faith so don't worry, It's an old bike any buyer should expect some little issues and problems.

Its just annoying me Malc coz it never happened once to me and as soon i sell it it happens

Looking at a wiring diagram i think all those bilbs run off the same fuse.

All those items are off the same fuse and changing it will give him all the items back , but why did it blow?

The main issue is he will have to check each ancillary individually, just time consuming.
Probably just a connection not in properly.
Was it a new ignition barrel, old worn ones sometimes trip the grey wire( sidelight and taillight as parking light.)

Wasnt blown either.......was broken somehow. Plastic case snapped or something.

Yeah, the old style glass case fuses on my katana break like that. They just seem to corrode through and break after a few years. From the outside it looks as though they are intact so it's hard to spot.
Had one go like that and cause problems. The bike shop couldn't find the cause, although luckily later on the guy in the motorcycle recovery van spotted it pretty quickly and a new fuse sorted it out.

If you don't have one or want to buy one, use an old indicator.

Shows where you have 12v or not.
