SH232-12 Reg/Rect

Hi All,

I've got 2x reg rects here for £15! Guaranteed to be working.

Having read up on the 232, it's from a H**da Superdream, and highly regarded among owners of non H**da bikes as a bomb proof replacement for OEM equipment.

A quick question: The one I intend to use (with the bigger heatsink) is a 6 lead affair. Has anybody converted to one? I'd like clarification of the wiring!

It has 3x Yellow (Self explanatory)

1x Green (i'm led to believe this is earth)

1x Red/White (again, pretty clear)

1x Black (I'm led to believe that this is voltage sense, and needs to be hooked up to an ignition switched live).

I do have a 5 lead here, but it's nowhere near as "substantial" as the Shindengen unit!

Thanks,

J

Thanks Pete!

That has confirmed what I suspected!

I'll write the missus a list of what bullets she needs etc and I can get it done tomorrow night!

I've decided against the 5 lead unit, as it bears no identifying marks other than A190038-00.

Googling the number comes up with European importers flogging bits for Jinlin Chinese quads!

I've just gotten rid of one chunk of Chinese crap, and be blowed if I'm going to pollute the Kat with that kinda stuff! At least the H**da unit is Japanese..... :)

The Honda one is the preferred choice. Bullet proof ;)

ive said it before and ill say it again. the old superdream unit is a good thing. but, even the very newest superdream reg rec is getting on for 30 years old now. so when youre getting shut of an old knackered reg rec, is it sensible to replace it with something that may well even be older, when you can get a new electrex unit for 60 quid with a warranty and a knowlege that it will work as it should.

They seem to be pretty popular among the bike community.

One came from a 250N SuperBream and the other from a CX500. Had to travel a few miles to get them, but it was better than paying Grumpys Motorcycles (the clue to the owners manner is in the name) £35 for a used unit with a "gateway guarantee".

Hopefully that will be the last of the faffing about, and I can get on with the final touches. Still say the misfire may have caused the problem by chucking HT where it shouldn't go! It was fine before that!

At the moment John, it's a question of budget.

We will maybe one day fit an electrex unit, but it's a case of having to make do with what we can afford at the moment!

Missus has her 2nd Mod 2 test early April, and if it hadn't been for her not passing the first, then maybe we could have afforded a new one! That's £170 gone from the kitty straightaway!

I have replied elsewhere about wiring in the H***a unit, just to say the black sensor wire that joins the ignition circuit to make it think it is in use, Just join the red and black wire together then join to Suzuki live (red) this save wires going into switches on means that all the wires you need to connect /disconnect are together.
