Suzuki GS 650 GZ Katana Rear Light Housing Removal

One of the 4 lugs on the rear light housing has broken off (the bottom left hand one as seen in the picture), so I need to replace this housing with a new one.
Removing the red plastic casing of the rear light is easy enough, but I can't see what's holding on the housing. Hope that makes sense.
Rather than force anything and break it, how do I remove this housing in preparation for replacing it with a new one?
Thanks in advance for any advice or info.

Cant remember when i did mine but i think you need to have a look from underneath. Dont think there is a access panel from the other side is there? so must be underneath.

Hi
If I recall correctly from my 550 Kat:

You will need to remove the seat and the tail fairing.

The metal bracket that you can see in your photo has 2 captive studs (the flat round bits either side of the number plate light) these protrude through the mounting bracket and are held on by a couple of M6 (I think) nuts. Disconnect the wiring loom from the lamp fitting, and undo these nuts, it should then come off in your hand or fall onto the floor. :)

Thanks callyboy and kryten. So I have to remove the tail fairing first? Jeez. When they designed these bikes, I guess they can't have had DIY maintenance as a top priority.
Does anyone know if the 550 light is interchangable with the 650? Might make it easier locating a spare.

I think they are the "Standard" Suzuki rear lamp of the time fitted to most of the range, they come up on weevil bay fairly often. Plus there are a couple of places doing full led versions
