650 Engine mountings....

The "teardrop" nuts...

What sized bolt do they require? Somehow I have managed to lose one of them.

The manual gives torque figures for 8mm & 10mm bolts.

Would I be right in assuming the bolt would be a standard M10?

I have pulled the Suzuki part number from csnl.com, but if a standard bolt will do, it will save me faffing and ordering one!

Cheers,

J

Metric Fine 1.25mm pitch...........But im sure a 1.50mm Pitch nut and bolt would do the same job.

Thanks chaps....

I will use the teardrops - I don't like the look of using a conventional nut :)

I'll take the teardrop up to the local nut and bolt supplier tomorrow and get them to try 1.25 and 1.5 pitch and see which fits the best, after I have checked what length I need!

Cheers,

J

you need a 1.25..... bobster is saying if you don't have that.... then use a 1.5 nut n bolt (ie: not the teardrop version ;) )

Ah, didn't read it properly!

I can get a 1.25 no problem!

Thanks,

Was it the case of I'll put it somewhere safe so I don't lose it?

That's the problem Scott....

I put things somewhere so I don't lose them, then can't find them!

I remember once doing the clutch on my car, and Rover had helpfully used 2 different threads on the bellhousing bolts - So I put them in a "safe place" so I knew what went where etc. Half an hour later and after much swearing and cursing I remembered I had put them between the fusebox and the inner wing! That was after a couple hours of putting them there.... You can imagine what it's like after a couple of days! :-(
