Has anyone used stick coils on their Kat. I was thinking about using them on my 1100 and wondered if any particular model is better to use. Are they that much better than standard anyway. My loom is getting overhauled over winter and would make sense to do it now. Someone suggesed zx6 ones. I would be gratefulfor aadvice. Thanks.

Hi
Not tried them myself, but there was an article in Practical Sportsbike about retro fitting them to a GPz (I think).
No reason why they should not work on a big Kat.
weEvil Bay throws up a few hits for them, mostly about the £50 mark.
This would help to make the installation neater and more reliable

Provided that they are wired up in the correct sequence they should be fine. My main question would be about supporting them. They are all off Water Boilers and are held in place by the top of the cylinder head/cam cover. You may need to adapt a cable support to prevent them from vibrating loose and causing a misfire. But it's nothing that cannot be overcome.
Post up a thread if you go that route.

From what I remember about looking to fit some to my GPZ you've just got to make sure they're in the same resistance range (and of course that they're not to long and will still fit under the tank!

)

You'll need the sub wiring loom that goes with them too
