I said HISSING !!!!

Now that the tank is back on the Impulse (for the moment prob) and the petrol tap looks like it has a good seal (for the moment prob) i noticed that it makes a hell of a racket venting. Is this normal ? My 550 doesnt seem to make any noise.

Sounds like you have blocked breather, either in the petrol cap or you've kinked a breather pipe when putting the tank on..

Either that or that snake you found when you first stripped it down has made a nest in the tank
